Infection Control

As an accredited organization and responsible practitioner, Lynn Pierri DDS, MS and Suffolk Oral & Maxillofacial Ambulatory Surgery Facility follow strict infection control guidelines as described and enforced by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), the American Dental Association (ADA), the New York State Department of Health, Suffolk County Department of Health, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

We accomplish this regularly by:

  • Maintaining strict sanitary codes& practices
  • Adapting nationally recognized infection control guidelines
  • Performing quality improvement studies to challenge our control methods
  • Implementing Airborne, droplet and contact precautions
  • Utilizing puncture resistant Sharps containers
  • Employing certified waste removal companies for hazardous waste
  • Utilizing the Midmark M9/M9D and Tuttanauer 2540EKA Steam Sterilizers with the SterilChek infection control system
  • Utilization of single-use devices to prevent cross-contamination
